- The sample lesson allows participants to experience an actual lesson complete with readings, study questions and discussion. You will also have the opportunity to lead a portion of the session.
Why DISCIPLE Bible Study?
- DISCIPLE is a unique study in that the intention of the study is not only to increase the knowledge of the study participants and to deepen their connection to the Biblical narrative, but to also transform their lives as Disciples of Christ.
- The study format takes the participants through the Biblical story from Creation to Revelations giving a complete overview to a people’s faith journey.
- Because one of the goals of DISCIPLE is discernment of gifts and talents it can be used as a form of appreciative inquiry.
- DISCIPLE’s format is designed to be respectful of people’s time. The Teacher Helps manual gives time allotments for each section and provides a variety of teaching methods to engage different types of learners in your group.
- DISCIPLE is designed to be led by a facilitator rather than a teacher, which allows leadership by those without theological training. The participants learn from their readings in the Bible, the Study Manual and from each other’s experiences.
