Celebrating the 400th Anniversary of King James Bible

The upcoming Fall academic term is heralded by a very exciting event, co-sponsored by VST, University Hill Congregation, Regent College and UBC Library’s Rare Books and Special Collections, which celebrates a cultural and spiritual landmark: the 400th Anniversary of the King James Bible.Three public free events will take place to commemorate this important milestone:

Tuesday, Sept. 6th at 7 pm: An Eighty-Year Journey: The Making of the King James Bible Lecture by Professor R. Gerald Hobbs (Vancouver School of Theology) at the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre in the Rare Books & Special Collections. Followed by the Official Opening of the Exhibition and a Reception.

Saturday, Sept. 17th at 7 pm: Memory, Meaning, and Rhetorical Power: the KJV and Its Legacy

Lecture by Professor David L. Jeffrey, Distinguished Professor of Literature & the Humanities, Baylor University, Waco, Texas, at the Chapel of the Epiphany, Vancouver School of Theology

Saturday Sept. 7th to Oct. 29th: Mon – Fri. 9 am – 5 pm and Sat. 12 – 5 pm
