Somerville House, which opened in December 2004, is a residence for mature students who are registered in programs at VST, Regent College, Corpus Christi, UBC, or other nearby educational institutions.

• • Applicants must be 20 years of age as of December to apply for an academic year.
• • Applicants must agree to the policies in the Somerville House Residence Agreement.

Application forms are published online at the start of February for the following academic year. VST students are given first priority in housing assignments. A $50 non-refundable application fee is payable by credit card with the application form.

Contracts will be emailed from mid-March. Payment of the first month’s rent and a security deposit equal to 1⁄2 a month’s rent are due upon housing acceptance.

Amenities

• Monthly fees include heat, water, electricity, high speed internet, and cablevision.
• Individual locked mailboxes located in the entry lobby.
• Laundry rooms with coin-operated washers and dryers located on main and 4th floors.
• Common rooms located on main floor and 4th floor.
• Kitchen with stove, microwave, fridge and large freezer located on 4th floor.
• 20 underground parking spots available to rent on monthly basis.
• A courtesy locked bike cage provided in underground garage.

Note:

• All facilities are non-smoking.
• Residents expected to supply own bedding, towels, pots and pans, dishes, cleaning equipment and supplies.
• No microwave ovens or dishwashers provided in apartments.
• Housekeeping service provided only to common areas and lounges.
• No storage areas provided; any furniture that is moved must be returned to its original location before leaving.

Iona Building

During the Sept. to April academic term, apartments are available to rent on the 3rd and 4th floors of the quiet Iona Building. All apartments are furnished with a captain’s bed, small desk, private bathroom with tub or shower, bar fridge, cable TV, wireless internet, and telephone. A few apartments are larger one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms. Monthly housekeeping is included.

A laundry room is located on the 4th floor. A lounge with adjoining kitchen, containing a large fridge, microwave oven, electric range/oven, toaster oven and hot plate, is located on the 4th floor for studio residents to prepare their own meals.
